OMG 😲

SwimmingFree · 15/08/2025 23:34

🤮

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 15/08/2025 23:34

Sad, an elderly hoarder. either died or now been taken into some form of residential care.
Neighbours should have reported it to Environmental Health years ago, they would have cleaned it up, again and again.

Mistyglade · 15/08/2025 23:38

Wish I’d not looked tbh.

VintedoreBay · 15/08/2025 23:39

Send in Stacey Solomon et al.

MarxistMags · 15/08/2025 23:42

Holy Hell ! How much ? You must be joking .

anytipswelcome · 15/08/2025 23:43

I find that really sad rather than entertaining like the threads where houses have fun decor etc 😔 really hope whoever lived there is being taken care of now or at peace. Sorry to be a misery about it, it just caught me off guard seeing the state of it especially the bathroom.

Alittlebitweird · 15/08/2025 23:43

There must be mental health issues to leave a house in that state. 😭 I don't envy anyone having to clean it especially the toilet. 🤮 It looks quite nice from the outside.

Estate agent had such a challenge they didn't bother trying to talk it up. "The property requires a program of refurbishment".

Bathroom is a shocker- even by the standard of unclean that is associated with chronic hoarding

24Dogcuddler · 16/08/2025 00:23

Usually you know a house is in a state when there are hardly any photos. Why on earth has the EA included so many? Really sad and good that you warned us about the bathroom OP.

Testerical · 16/08/2025 00:25

Holy fuck.

That’s a hoarders house, clearly. It’s such an intractable mental health condition, I’m so sorry for the relatives - really hard to deal with.

PInkyStarfish · 16/08/2025 00:38

You could ask for a £5,000 discount to offset all the bleach you need to buy.

Gingerkittykat · 16/08/2025 02:13

It's so sad that somebody was living like that.

user764329056 · 16/08/2025 02:36

That’s really sad

BreakingBroken · 16/08/2025 02:53

nice big lot size, and the ceilings all look sound not much water damage so once cleared out the bones of the building are most likely fine.
a big skip, some shovels and gloves along with a few people to help would make a big difference.
no clue about price but i would make sure the offer includes clean up and risk of unknown damage (plumbing or electric) no clue about area either.
solid potential for resale after clean up.

HaroldMeaker · 16/08/2025 03:12

I don’t understand why the estate agent hasn’t included a floor plan? How are we to make sense of any of it.
I also don’t understand the point of this thread? Ordinary property not well presented by a struggling vendor, so what?

Ikr?! Completely ordinary property - my house is exactly the same inside.
I don’t have as many bedrooms but I find most people use their toilet as a vase for excrement so I really can’t understand the point of the thread either.

I can see how a floor plan would be useful when the floor isn’t visible in the photos.

Seriously it is sad how many people live in homes like this with no intervention. A close friend buys houses to refurbish and sell and has come across similar. He said he finds it heartbreaking that there can be multiple family members desperate to sell and not one of them was around to stop it getting in that state and being there when the relative was alive.

IglesiasPiggl · 16/08/2025 03:47

How very sad that someone lived like that.

DurhamDurham · 16/08/2025 04:55

It’s up for auction so I suppose they have to show the condition of the house so people know what they’re taking on. It’ll be sold as seen and will probably be a lovely home one day.
I wouldn’t know where to start with that bathroom 😱

OpheliaNightingale · 16/08/2025 05:22

How can a survey take place? I guess it will be a cash buyer/builder perhaps..

isthismylifenow · 16/08/2025 05:28

Oh this is so sad.

I thought the same! Interesting they didn’t go for the upsell… ‘this fully furnished 4 bedroom property…’
😂

JDM625 · 16/08/2025 06:04

I'm surprised the agent took so many photos! We bought a derelict property a few years ago, not as bad or filthy, but furniture to the ceilings in some rooms and plants growing through windows. The agent only had 1 photo from the front- none of the inside.

Luckily in our case, it was all cleared before the sale.
