No carpet in skip - since when?

To start with - clearly I'm an idiot for not reading the fine print on the website. I only noticed that carpet was on the forbidden materials list when I got an email from the skip company about extending my hire, by which time we're halfway through our renovation. But since when was this a thing? Google says carpet can go in a skip, and certainly I never thought of it being forbidden. The skip hire company's website says "All companies have their own regulations..."

Well all council tips have their own rules so of course all skip companies will.

Our council tip accepts carpets though.

Just checked my local skip company website and no mention of carpet as a forbidden item. It specifically mentions household furnishings are allowed, and I'd say carpet comes into that category.

I was probably lucky but I listed my old carpet (after a flood) for free on fb marketplace. It was taken by a guy who did agility training for dogs!

But you're an individual and not a business. Business tipping has different terms. It may cost them too much to dump carpet.

Sorry I quoted the wrong one
