Can I return a Vinted purchase?

I bought some sunglasses on Vinted which were brand new without tags. They are really loose and don’t stay on my (wide) head. I mentioned this to the seller and she said that they were too loose for her which is why she was selling them. Does Buyer Protection on Vinted cover me for if the item doesn’t fit? There was no mention of them being loose on the description. Sadly they’re going g to be pretty useless and I was wondering what my rights are.

Not for an item that doesn’t fit, you will need to sell them on yourself

Radiowaawaa · 14/08/2025 11:35

As above.

Even when you do return on Vinted, you normally need to cover costs. Best to sell on - mention they are loose/wide-fitted.

An optician might be able to help with this of course, but not sure what the cost would be.

That's the trouble with Vinted.

You can't send things back if you've accepted them to start with.

Once you receive a parcel, if it doesn't meet your expectations, you should click on I HAVE AN ISSUE and explain what's wrong.

If you don't do this, you can't send things back afterwards.

Your only option is to sell them yourself @wondabar

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/08/2025 11:40

Have you actually accepted the parcel @wondabar?

K0OLA1D · 14/08/2025 11:42

That's the risk with vinted. Unless its faulty or not as described then I don't think you should be sending them back. Just sell them on. You'd have to pay for the return anyway.

No, it doesn't. Buyer Protection seems to me to be a way of Vinted's making money for themselves.

Not always. Last week I returned a pair of jeans which were lovely, but not the size the seller had said they were.

She accepted the return and paid for it herself, so I didn't end up out of pocket.

It was such a shame because I really liked the jeans, but they just weren't my size.

That was because they accepted they put the wrong size surely? If something comes as advertised and just doesnt fit, then its not the sellers fault.

That's true, but they don't have to pay for the return. It's the seller's choice to do so.
She could have accepted the return, but asked me to pay for it.

Last month I received something that was Significantly Not As Described (SNAD) and the seller accepted the return, but I had to pay the return postage.

LividSquidward · 14/08/2025 12:28

Agree with above.

The risk of Vinted is that you know you'll have to sell on anything that doesn't fit.

(Though I recently received a pair of wellies in two different sizes, and the seller agreed to pay for that particular return. Had they just not fit, I'd be selling them on with a note about being large/small fitting or whatever.)

Pineapplewaves · 14/08/2025 12:45

Just re-list them and sell them on.

Netcurtainnelly · 14/08/2025 15:06

How much were they?
