What age for Pizza Express bday party?

Dd turning 13 this autumn. She went to a PE party a few years ago - I think they were all turning 9 or 10 then and she said it was fun. However I'm wondering if at 13, they will be too old for it?
I cannot be doing with any more parties where I hire a hall, decorate it, sort of food and entertainment. I've done that too many times so want it to be easy for me.

Definitely too old at 13. DD was about 6 when she went to a pizza express party! I wouldn’t say that a hall type party is appropriate for teens either to be honest.

Early teen birthday parties for DD and friends consisted of:
Sleepovers
Cake decorating class
Shopping in local town or trip to local cinema followed by dinner (chain like Nando’s etc)
Makeover party with photoshoot
Trampoline park
Hot tub party

DD has been to 2 and they were both 6th birthday parties. At 13 I would do cinema or bowling followed by just a normal meal at pizza express.

Why not just ask if she wants that? I guess maybe at that age you could have her go with her friends minus the adults. PE is good for teens.

Otherwise I guess things like TGIs or a fast food place.

Which might seem a bit more childish or tacky. Is she a bit of a foodie? It could be something fancier but maybe with fewer guests if she is.

Yes too old for that sort of party.

Bowling parties, laser tag parties, go ape etc, lush parties, cinema & a meal are just a few ideas for you to consider!

I worked at PE in uni and did sooo many bday parties and school trips absolutely hungover I wouldn’t pay for it knowing that 🤣 they’re really not that good!

She’s way too old for either things you’re suggesting (assuming no SN of course).

Drop her off at the cinema/bowling, friends meet there. Give her money to take everyone for a burger after. Job done. Easy as pie for you!

We did las iguanas at that age, just a normal early bird menu booking

What does she want to do?
For my stepdaughters 13th we did a family BBQ, handy because she ended up with people giving her cash and gift cards for what she wanted to do with her friends which was..
Dropped off at Blue Water with her friends, shopping, Nando’s, sleepover.

I just want to do movie/ bowling and then a meal. She now wants a disco and wants to invite 13 girls- primary school and a few new secondary school friends.

I said no way to the hall but she is having mini meltdowns.

I told her last year that I was done doing the high stress organised parties for her and younger sibling. I told her then that it would be eating a meal at PE but I think she thinks it's boring to do that.

Any help negotiating this would be appreciated.

i booked an escape room experience and a bougie brasserie for my daughters recent 13th, lots of wall flowers, swing chair with lights etc, got a cake from the cake box (they are really nice and are around £40, daughter loved it and so did her friends. I reserved a booth for them so that I wasn’t in the way.

That looks lovely. Did you buy all the flowers/ decorate the chair yourself?

My uni friend had a Pizza Express 21st birthday party! We all had great fun (though there were a few drinking games involved).

Ds had several "parties at Pizza Express in his teens but what he usually did was half a dozen of them went to the cinema, then went to Pizza Express afterwards. I had to show my face at the start and give my contact details then I turned up at the end and paid.
