Has anyone else’s DC flown alone from Italy?

DS is 17 and he is flying back from our family holiday earlier (From Italy) than the rest of us this week.

I’ve just had a quick panic and just wanted to see if anyone else’s DC has done this? On some websites he still seems to be classed as a minor and they’re saying I need to provide a letter of consent but others saying all fine and don’t need to do anything . I did ask easyJet and they said they didn’t have any issues but the airport ‘might’ so that wasn’t terribly helpful.

i can, of course, just write him a letter and I will be at the airport with him but now I’m a bit concerned as I have a different last name to him.

Also I might be worrying needlessly but would be great if anyone else had any experience of this.

thank you.

Mine’s 15 and has done this with no problems.

Give him a letter just in case, and a photo of your passport (he can just have this in his phone).

Probably overthinking! If its's even remotely possible you may need a letter of consent, then just write one. Far better to have it and not need it than the other way round. It won't do him any harm or cause any difficulties if he has and doesn't need it.

My DC has flown from France and Portugal this summer and was very straightforward. She was 15 at the time.

If you google there is a pro forma letter for the airline/security.
