Shall I call 111?

Chronic health anxiety sufferer so bare with me.

I’ve been having some tingly sensations in my leg for a few days, on the right side. And for the last few nights I’ve been waking up with extreme pins and needles in my right hand/fingers that have taken a while to get rid of.
im in bed tonight and my right side doesn’t feel right, my right arm feels heavy and weak. I can only describe it as my arm not feeling like it belongs to me. I still have the tingles in my leg too.

could this just be a trapped nerve, or should I call? I don’t feel like panic is driving this.. which usually when I’m having symptoms of anything major I’m in full panic mode. I think that’s what’s concerning me more is that I’m not having a panic attack right now, I just don’t feel right.

If the tingling is a completely new thing then yes I’d call 111. They’ll triage you and direct you as appropriate. It’s a non emergency number so don’t feel bad using it if you aren’t sure!

The tingling is new over the last few days And it comes and goes in waves. My arm weakness is what bothering me the most

Phone them. I assume that's what they are for.
If nothing else you'll feel reassured and calmer.

Yes, you should.

i don't want to worry you but I had this prior to my more serious stroke. Turns out it was also a stroke, but a lesser one. My more serious one happened at night (didn't wake me) and in the morning I just had tingling/felt like it was numb from sleeping on it. Through out the day it didn't get any better & I started dropping my water bottle. A friend suggested maybe I'd had a stroke but I didn't think so as I could stil raise my arms, smile, no drooping of my face etc.

I won't bore you with the rest of my long boring talent , but it's been life changing, it could probably have been avoided if I'd recognised the first one for what it was.

ring, tell them you're worried you've had a stroke & they should send someone out to you. The paramedics that came out to me didn't think I'd had a stroke, but said something was obviously not right so called the hospital to get me directly into the stroke assessment 'path' to avoid A & E.

Yes ring them. I imagine they will assess you and send an ambulance

incognitomummy · 12/08/2025 01:17

Yes. Call them. Tell them you are worried in case it is a stroke

incognitomummy · 15/08/2025 01:13

Hope you are. Ok. OP
