I use a 2 word combo that covers all vowels between them. I don’t always do them in the same order. Occasionally 1 of them gives me a good start & I don’t then use the second word. Tends to keep safe at three or four guesses. 2s are rare.

I've been using the same starter word for more than a year in the hopes of getting another one (got two before). I think I would rotate starter words in future.

I used to use two starter words on alternate days until “train” came up on a day I started with the other one. Since then I have used the same one every day, even though it’s not that great, because if it did eventually come up I would be gutted.

Well done 2s! I have about 10 starter words that I use on rotate. Of course, I run the risk that one of them comes up on a day I’ve not used it as a starter word - which has happened before!

After some messing about in the early days, I've used the same starter word for about three years. Which is definitely not the best one, or that's my excuse for my pathetic streaks and two-rate, at least compared to many of the amazing wordlers on here. But one day it will come up!

Very interesting 🤔 to hear the tactics of all you Wordlers!😀

I am not too interested in getting a one or a two. My main priority is not failing all together. So I use up to 3 starter words, which between them cover all the vowels and much of the most common consonants. This approach means that in general I get it in 4.

My main priority is doing it as quickly as possible, usually while I'm waiting for my toast to be done at breakfast - if it takes longer than 3 minutes I'm unimpressed!
