Paying the balance for the holiday

I'm due to pay the balance for our holiday in November.
Should I pay it with my debit card or credit card.
What are the pros and cons of a credit card.
It's nearly £2k.

Definitely credit card. There's more protection with it. Even if you only pay £101 of the balance on credit card and rest on debit you'd get the same protection i believe.

I'd stick it all on credit card then just pay the credit card off right away like you would have with a debit card.

My credit card gives me airmiles. As long as you have travel insurance it shouldn’t really matter but a credit card does give you extra backup. You can always pay it off straight away.

As long as you pay some by credit card then youre covered for the full amount, so you could do a mix of credit and debit card

Always credit card, the protection is so much better. We just immediately pay it off after.

I worked for a holiday company, def pay it on your credit card. There is so much more protection.

As I said, you get the full credit card protection even if you only part pay using it. In the past we have paid the deposit on credit card and then the balance using debit card

Always credit card. If you can afford to pay it off on your debit card then you just clear the bill as soon as it comes in.

Pay on your credit card for the extra insurance it gives you. Then pay off your credit card straight away. Have a lovely holiday :-)

Is there a negative to using a credit card? As long as you pay it off in the interest free period, I don't think there is any negatives as credit cards offer you allot more protection than debit cards

I always pay for absolutely everything on a credit card. I either get air miles or Amazon vouchers depending which one I use. I obviously pay it off the minute the statement is available so never incur any charges. But not only I got some expensive flights for almost nothing and Amazon vouchers but also had to dispute transactions twice, due to issues with the companies I was paying, and both times I got my money back in full. And one time was for a holiday that didn't go ahead due to the pandemic but the company basically wanted to keep the money anyway.
My debit card may as well not exist.
Basic rule: your money - bank doesn't care, banks money (technically) - they do care.
