EV charging point - inside or outside garage?

I generally park in the garage over the winter (say October to March) and then on the drive over the summer.

Has anyone come across any specific access for charger cables in similar circumstances?

I was wondering about a catflap (rather than just a hole in the wall) next to the charger that the cable cam be permanently through for 6m of the year to enable easy access for when parking opposite to where the charger is - still debating whether to have charger inside or outside the garage.

PHEV so will charge every night.

Our charging point is inside the garage. The cable goes under the door with no problem so check if that would work for you. Our garage door has a what looks like a short brush at the bottom and the cable goes through it with no problems. We have one vehicle in the garage and one on the drive so this works for us. I prefer to have the point inside as it's out of the weather and more secure.

Also would comment that it's been like that for several years with no damage to either the door or the cables.

Similarly we have ours inside the garage but the car is usually (not always) outside -
it goes underneath the garage door, again there is a brushy thing so no damage.

either is fine but dh was convinced that someone would come and steal the cable/cable box if it was outside.

Small Catflap would def work though that is probably unnecessary depending on your garage door.

Ours is also in the garage. I see more and more around us now that are outside and thunk how handy is would be to not have to open the garage door every time I want to charge. Or to have to open the door to put the charging plug away when we're finished.

But we could solve this problem by changing our ancient garage door to something that opens smoothly. Maybe it wouldn't be a problem for you.

Also make sure you keep a garage door key in the car. It's even more annoying if I've only got the single car key with me rather than a big bunch and I have to go inside for the garage key.

On balance though I'd still prefer it inside out of the weather.

Our garage door has a rubber seal thing along the bottom and the cable fits through there fine. Been there 12 years and the cable has never been damaged.

we never open the garage. The cable just permanently trails out of it. We have a little "holder" on the wall to keep it out of the way.

Thank you for all the replies.

Garage door is newish electrical roller, sensor on the bottom to stop if it hits something - not sure how it would react to a cable on the floor (but I can test it with something else).
Couple of fobs, keep one in the car and spare in house.
Garage also has a side door with key, and i have one of those on my keyring.

I was envisaging a hook outside (assuming charger inside) to leave the cable on when not in use, so I wouldn't have to open the garage up every evening.

Sounds like it isn't going to be an issue.
