Why do I wake up feeling sick and dizzy every morning? Suggestions?

I am incapacitated and miserable for the first hour of every day, and I don't know why!

My diet is reasonable, not every day, but most days, I am overweight, is that it? I am trying to lose weight. I sleep well and exercise a lot, I don't have a lot of stress.

I had chemo a few years ago, is it a hang over from that? Could I be getting diabetic?

I take anastrozole, is it just a harmless side effect I need to live with?

Any and all suggestions welcome, I will look into them - I am fine for the rest of the day, so it seems like a difficult, minor, nebulous issue to try and get a GP appointment with

Thank you to anybody who reads and suggests something

Try having something sweet and a glass of water, you might be getting low blood sugar as it’s been a while since you e eaten.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector by the boiler? Could be mild effects if there are windows and doors open so it's dissipating.

Could be a number of things, the above, dehydration (try and have a few sips of water if you wake in the night), acid reflux.

If you haven't had your boiler checked recently, always worth it. Ours is 15 years old, never had a breakdown and engineer picked up a seal was wearing on last service and we had high chances of a carbon monoxide leak.

If you have had a blood test for a while ask for one and you could try taking something off the counter for acid reflux for a short while to see if that helps.

Sorry for you. Perhaps not to the same extent, but I can honestly say I haven't woken up feeling "well" for years. Slight nausea, bit of shakiness. Can you keep a drink by the side of the bed and does that help you?

Ever since had breast cancer 9 years ago this has been a problem for me. But its got a bit better since I finished the anastrazole (a year ago). Ive no idea exactly what it is, having a cup of tea in bed before getting up properly helps a bit.

Thank you - I do two carbon monoxide alarms, one by the boiler, one in the upstairs hall, and have just checked them both, they are both recording zero forever, but it was worth checking

I will definitely try acid reflux medication tonight! Thank you

O really, that is interesting, so maybe it is normal on anastrazole? Thank you

I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years before anastrazole, the nausea was even worse on that!

o really, looks like I may have found the reason! Which is a relief in itself as I was afraid of diabetes or something- but would still be good to find a way of managing it a bit better

Co2 levels.

It isn’t harmful but the co2 of your bedroom easily builds up high if your sleep with the window closed or bedroom door closed.

We have co2 sensors and they go off as hazardous ie over 1000 if three of us ie dh, myself and Ds all sleep in one bedroom with door closed. In hotel rooms with bad air ventilation and non opening windows I always wake with a headache

So do you leave door open all year at least, and window also if possible. Otherwise open window before bedtime and leave bedroom door open. Ideally with another window open in hallway/ bathroom to air out

Ok, I'll try that, door is normally shut at night because of dog, but could open the window more
