How do you rest and what do you eat after a sick bug?

On day five of a sick bug that won't let up. I stopped being sick by day two but still feel extremely nauseous, tired and generally unwell. I am trying to rest but it's becoming clear I don't really know how to. I tried putting washing slowly away this morning and had to sit for half an hour doing nothing because I felt so bad. Can't get comfy in most positions, lying or sitting. However I feel like reading, watching TV or on my phone makes me distracted at the time and but feel worse after. When I close my eyes I just feel dizzy.

I also have no idea what to eat and I'm getting so hungry but eating yesterday made me feel sick all day.

I am sure it will all pass soon enough and I know I can't rush it but what do I do in the mean time? When you're sick what helps you most?

Ready salted crisps - tasty, replace salts and not too gross if vomit up.

Toast and jam.

I avoid dairy as can irritate tummy.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you, I've done all those things so confirming I'm not doing anything wrong. Just need to get better at playing the waiting game.

I've had something similar.

Feel nauseous when I eat most things, then nauseous because I'm so hungry. Currently surviving on crisps and Coca-Cola! (I can't tolerate sweeteners so my old standby of lucozade is out)

Toast.
Plain digestives or rich tea biscuits, something plain like that.
Sometimes coffee helps settle my stomach.
Cornflakes are usually ok for me but like a op said, sometimes you’re best avoiding dairy.
Occasionally I really crave ready salted crisps after a sickness bug so assume it’s my body wanting to replace the salt.

I would eat similar to the others
But I often have a few sweets- like jelly babies, wine gums. Mainly because I end up being dizzy as well.....
I often have chicken noodle soup and dry crackers
And ginger ale

I've been drinking flat lemonade (no sweetners here either). I can't do caffeine as that makes me nauseous when I feel well. Sorry to hear you aren't well too.

Aside from the eating how do you rest?

I listen to audio books, its a bit of a distraction from how rubbish I'm feeling but doesn't require any concentration. Not the time for anything complicated, ideally a favourite then it doesn't matter if you fall asleep and miss a bit

Very diluted fruit juice, herbal tea, then toast or oaty biscuits when I feel like I can handle it.

Tomato soup, boiled eggs also worth considering.

I eat crackers and chicken cuppa soup i know there is no nutrition in it but usually stays in and makes me feel better, that and lemonade. .resting varies doesn't it ? I usually just dose on the sofa and watch rubbish. I hope you feel better soon.
