You know on a level results day, if you found out through an email accepting you into uni, what time did you find out ?

From what I seem to find out giggling results come out at 8 am

bit if you found out before that in previous years, say from getting an email from one of your uni choices

Older DC had an email from the uni before we had arrived at school to collect results - reckon it was around 8am

Ds found out at 7am - acceptance. I was looking at clearing the day before so could see they were accepting under his offer

There is an embargo until 8am, where universities who have access to A level results aren't allowed to do anything until 8am on results day. So the uni usually emails an acceptance at 8am on the dot.

It was quite early, around 8am. He had heard from his first choice (Bath) even before he knew what his results were.

This is correct, uni’s will only let you know from 8am on results day. Schools know the information in advance but under an embargo. Schools choose when to release the grades from 8am - most at 8. The best thing to do is get organised for clearing in advance just in case.

Dd found out about 8am, collected results at 9.

My daughter got at email congratulating her on her place, it came at 8.06 which was before UCAS and as we were driving to college

Yes, embargo until 8am and then results can be released.

My dd got an email around 830 for acceptance got results about 9.

My daughter knew she got into her first choice uni at 8am on results day. She went to school later for her results.

My son hasn't decided if he is checking ucas first tomorrow but I think he will as he will likely get notifications on his phone. Good luck everyone
