Is it just the men I know or do none of them know how to properly use a bog brush?

Just that really!
I should be thankful that they use one at all but over the years I’ve gone to use the brush and it’s covered in poop or paper - surely people know to flush first? And/or flush with the brush in the loo so it gets rinsed off.

I bought a new brush last week as I needed one with a cover. Went for a nice looking mid-range one. Just went to use it for the first time and it’s got god knows what all dried onto it! Thick orange god knows all in the bristles which won’t come off. Never thought I’d be one to clean my toilet brush as I never saw the point but it’s not only grim (and will end up smelling) but it’d be embarrassing if anyone came over and used it. They’d also be mentally questioning my diet because I have no clue what my boyfriend could’ve eaten that’s dark orange.

Anyway just needed to get that out 😂 and ask whether this is a common thing. Surely I shouldn’t be having to give bog brush lessons to men in their 30s

The orange sounds like rust the nylon bristles will probably have a metal band on them when there inserted to the stick

Or sometimes limescale in water looks like this if it's been left to stand.

My husband does all the toilet cleaning in our house. He’s have to teach me 🤣.

It won't make any difference if you give "bog brush lessons", as the perpetrator is highly likely to ignore all instructions and carry on his merry way.

At least he tries using the brush, which is better than leaving skid marks and poo lumps all around the loo bowl, on the rim and onto the seat, which is what I often have to contend with!

I only buy the cheap black toilet brushes for £1, from Ikea for our home and our holiday let. I regularly change them too. They don't show any colour on the bristles. I don't know why they are made with white ones! Yuk!

I don't use a toilet brush for cleaning actual poo stains. We use a bit of toilet roll to clear marks from the toilet above the water line. The rest usually clears after flushing. The brush is used when the toilet is getting cleaned with toilet cleaner. I dont want poo all over my brush 🤮

That’s what I thought at first but there were also bits of…orange stuff 🥴

This is what I do too, as long as you wash your hands I think it’s a good way to do it. But I don’t mind using the brush for poo as long as it’s either flushed off or swirled in the water afterwards. I don’t understand why someone would think it’s fine to have an object that’s festering with poo and paper on
