I am looking to change flooring for the ground floor of my London semi-detached house. About 100 sqm of space all in, including hallway, living rooms, kitchen, WC. Currently have a floating engineered wood floor in the living areas and massive radiators all over the house. Looking to replace with wet underfloor heating and LVT - I have only seen Amtico so far.
It seems that Amtico and other providers offer the more common glue down option, as well as click. I believe Amtico has limited options for the click type. Has anyone looked into the pros and cons of click vs glue down LVT to go on top of underfloor heating, for a high traffic area which will be used by 2 children (over 8 years old)? I feel if there is a fault with the ufh, click might be easier to lift up and investigate and replace. but i dont know which of them is more durable and the installation costs will also vary.
The Amtico fitter (works with the authorised Amtico retailer) is going to come and have a look at the current flooring to see what leveling / prep will be needed. The retailer mentioned that they can also install underfloor heating, and Wunda doesnt have any recommended installers.
Also, are Amtico's prices fixed or does negotiating work? the installation prices per sqm seem to be nearly as high as the tiles themselves. only reason i looked at Amtico was that they seem to be market leaders and had a retailer not far from me. I havent see Karndean, polyflor etc. yet.
Suggestions from those who made similar decisions will be most appreciated.
