Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Dd1's fed the cats and they've followed her back upstairs - she's getting ready for work, they're bounding about like elephants. Dd2's not up yet so it'll be nice and quiet when dd1 leaves and the cats calm down.

We haven't got anything much planned for today - there's the usual washing and washing up, and I've been slowly working my way round the kitchen deep cleaning and decluttering this week so I'll do a bit more of that.

Dd2 wants to have a baking day one day this week so the only plan we actually have is to find her recipes, check ingredients, and write a shopping list for anything we're missing. I don't think we're shopping for it today though - we'll see!

At some point I'll spend some time finishing the purple Minion and Viking peg dolls I've been painting this week - I think I need to slightly alter the dress of the Viking lady though 🤔, then I'll start varnishing dolls that are finished - maybe tomorrow.

No idea what's for tea yet...I'll look with dd2 later on.

This evening, I'll have an hour with my book & maybe list a couple of things on Vinted, before an early ish night (always an early night unless we're out!).

What about all of you? 🙂

Kitchen tidied, errands to the tip, the butchers and Waitrose for the stuff Aldi and Sainsbury's didn't have for this weekend's recipe experiments, second load of washing on.

I'm having a coffee and a Portuguese custard tart now while we plan what we're doing with the weekend, given the weather forecast is pretty miserable. I fancy doing something creative, but I suspect the dreaded housework will end up winning.

We've been doing a few house jobs to get it ready to go on the market. The more I do the more I see that needs doing! Taking the DC to a local food festival later, they're happy when they're eating 😄

@PearlsPearl I do tend to still call them kittens. I suppose they're more like overenthusiastic toddlers now really 🤣.

@DilemmaDelilah no Mr. Dilemma drama today? Enjoy your lunch...I'm not sure what I'm having yet.

@viktoria have a lovely time with your mum!

@MissMarplesNiece who are you seeing?

Hmmm, might need a rethink - I had a look at the veg beds and what were 5 small patty pan squash on Wednesday are giant UFOs today, so I might be cooking all afternoon.

Off to Google yet more courgette recipes (you can use them m the same way)

@lucysmam no, no Mr Dilemma drama today. That was on Thursday, as we were leaving.... he got himself really stressed, we got just out of the driveway and up the road a tiny bit when he said he didn't feel well and we would have to go home. He wouldn't let me drive. He said he was stressed because it was last minute... but we had planned it 3 days before, it was only 2 nights, we had been there before and he only had to pack for himself. So.... we went home. Sat down for 15 minutes and he said he was OK to go.

He's driving up to Kent on his own (6 hours away) in just over a week... now that I am worried about but he says he will be fine. Less than 1 1/2 hours away from home and with me in the car with him.... hmmmm, what does that say about me!

You could bring back something nice to eat that you can "only" get from London as a treat for your kids. Hopefully they will then want you to go to London in the future so that you can get more of it. 😉

I have done just this and have some good cake in transit!
