If you won the euromillions (or had a similar amount of money) how would you spend some of the money to try and make a difference?

Partly inspired by driving through some fairly deprived areas and realising what a sheltered /privileged life my children live, and how much difference that makes to their life chances and childhood

And partly just that I like to day dream about having the power and resources to really make a difference in the climate change battle...

So I was just idly day dreaming and wondered what others would do?

I feel like it would be quite daunting to have that much money and know that if you used some of it wisely you could make a difference

I have a list of charities the length of my arm that i would help.

I would also buy up a bunch of green space, that couldnt be built on and put it into trust so that it never can be - along with a fund for its upkeep.

I’d start /buy a company that sponsors lower-income houses and small business premises to afford solar panels (providing capital for the initial install, providing subsidised maintenance for 15 years, and then doing a profit-share at a very low percentage so that we could continue to sustain the business model and roll it out far and wide.

I would absolutely LOVE to do this, has been a dream for 15 years

Yes!! This is one of my dreams too! It would help fight climate change and help small businesses/people on lower incomes too. That's exactly the kind of thing I would want to do.

I've also thought about things like helping with bikes/grants for public transport etc for the same reason.

To me, both climate change and pollution impact the least well off the most, so schemes that tackle both would be the key.

I’d create a fund and try to work with social prescribers and charities to direct grants of money and practical help to those in need, whether that paying to adapt or improve a property, putting a homeless family into decent accommodation, helping support a needy family, providing funds for after school clubs, tutoring or sports provisions. Just a general do good fund for anyone in society in need. It would be structured properly with multiple trustees and safe decision processes.

Plus I would support some local foodbanks, animal charities and pay vets bills, and support a local community bus service to open up some rural transport options.
