Buyers survey and holes in external brickwork

Hello!

Please excuse the panicky post as we have already had one sale fall through and are holding onto our onward purchase by the skin of our teeth it feels!
New buyers survey has flagged these holes to the external brickwork on our house.

I have always assumed these were left from old plumbing (kitchen exterior wall), perhaps the kitchen layout was changed at some point before our ownership?

They are all stuffed with some sort of wire wool.

These are under a ginnel at the side of our house so sheltered somewhat from rain & weather so I have always just left them alone and never had any issues.

Would you fill them in? And if so, what would be the best way?

Buyer not making a big fuss but has asked about them and so I am panicking because I'm a panicker ☺️

There are 3, all similar sizes, don't seem to be uniform in anyway just randomly dotted along the wall at different heights, I presume for different plumbing / appliances.

Chain drill through the mortar surrounding the damaged bricks.
Knock out the bricks with a lump hammer and chisel.
Make good any insulation in the cavity, if applicable.
Put in new bricks/mortar.

We had a couple of holes like that after we changed the kitchen. I bought some filling cement and just filled them in.

Great thanks so much so doesn't sound like a chain collapsing issue then phew!

I will look into filling them in.

We have a few holes like this. It never would have occurred to me to worry about them as a buyer and we’ve never done anything to them. One seems to lead through a pipe to nowhere in the kitchen and the kids like to periodically talk through it and scare the life out of whoever is in the kitchen. 😂

I've never even thought about them since we moved in to be honest! Never had an issue and they must have been there a while.

Not going to give my DC that idea haha.

I’d be concerned they could provide an entry point for rats. It may be that’s why they’ve been stuffed with wire wool but I think they’d be best properly filled.
A few years ago we had rats living under our garden shed and when the pest control man came one of the things he advised us to do was check our house walls for possible points of entry and fill them straightaway.
