Just as the title says I’ve just gone through my emails and I could see a provisional offer for wraparound care. I’ve paid all the remaining costs from the previous year but forgot to transfer the money to secure the place. Im panicking so much. Ive been through a significant level of stress lately and Im a single parent. Im scared I will have to leave my job from September. Ive got no one but wraparound care to help me and holiday clubs. Ive sent an email but I know no one will see it until the school year starts. Im scared to take my child to breakfast club when I know I havent secured the place unless I ask for an adhoc on the day but then I would need afterschool club as well Im so stressed I cried how could I make this stupid mistake im so scared

Don’t panic . If all else fails and you turn up on the first day of term and they send you away just phone in sick to work . They can’t sack you for being ill . Then you will have a few days to make other plans

I’m SLT in a school and was in today. I checked all the emails including after school club. I’ll monitor the emails for all the accounts until I go on holiday, then the head takes over. The office staff are back after the bank holiday. So please don’t panic. I’m sure someone will look at the emails over the holiday period - it may not be instant but they will checked. I’ll be doing it from home the next few days.

In your shoes I would tell work that you are having difficulty securing childcare for the term. That spaces are reallocated each year and you do not have confirmation yet.
That is the truth (skip the i forgot bit). Your major panic is work. Put that into context and tell them now.

My DH is a teacher. His school is open on certain days for staff to come in over holidays. I believe the office staff from about 4-5 academy’s each work a set amount of days at their school and each cover admin for all of these schools. This way there is always someone on duty to respond to emails. This may be the same for you.

our school never responds to any emails in the summer, no matter if urgent :(
