20 year olds driving

Just a quick question about your adult children driving, I had two driving long distances today, one abroad , one here in the uk. I was very happy to find out both reached their destinations safely. My husband seems to think I’m daft to worry but I can’t seem to help it. Am I daft, do others worry in these circumstances?

Yes, when my daughter passed her driving test, I worried excessively (my husband didn’t). I would feel sick with anxiety when she was out driving. She’s been driving for four years now and is very confident but I still worry (though not as much).

I’m 38 and I think my mum is still relieved to hear that I’ve arrived safely if I’m driving a long way away!

Thank you I am pleased to not be alone! One if mine passed their test at 17 then hadn’t been driving for 7 years, and the other has only been driving for 2. They were both driving long distances today. I was worried about them.

Of course I worry and I want them to let me know they arrived safely. I remember having to phone my parents when I got to my destination, much easier that they can now text. In fact I still have to text my stepmum when I get home after I have been to visit, she asks me to give her 3 rings.

Thank you I am pleased to hear that others feel the same. I did too back in the day with the three rings 😀,I don’t think it’s unreasonable myself but my husband thinks I’m being silly.

It has nothing to do with age. I know 20 year olds who are far better drivers than some 40+ year olds.
I think it's normal to be relieved when someone has got somewhere safely, even if you know they would.
