Helping a dog with a wound

Our lovely 11 year old cocker has had a wound on his neck. Not sure if he was bitten by an insect, cut it whilst out and about etc. Vet shaved around it, gave antibiotics, anti inflammatory mixture and antiseptic liquid. He wore a cone for a week. Went back to vets - healing well but finish the meds and collar can come off.
We’ve continued to bathe it and have given him short periods of time, watched carefully without the collar. Yesterday, he was in the garden without collar, and rolled his head, scratching the healed but tender wound on the grass. Wound bled, we cleaned it and collar is back on.
My question is… is there anything that we could use to stick over the wound to keep it clean whilst healing more so that he could have times without the collar. Fur makes it difficult but collar is adding to his frustration. We bathe and scratch him as much as necessary.

Sorry, he needs to keep the collar on until it's completely healed. That's what your vet would tell you. If there's enough fur been shaved and there's bare skin around the wound you could try a sticky dressing from the chemist but they usually require a bandage over them to keep them on and I wouldn't recommend bandaging your dogs neck yourself. Otherwise depending exactly where the wound is a pet medical shirt might be comfier, they come quite high up the neck. Or an inflatable collar could be another option. Good luck!
