Is this London itinerary feasible?

I’m travelling into London for work tomorrow but basically have the day to myself. I have meetings the rest of the week.

Is it feasible to visit Tate Modern, Tate Britain and the Wallace collection in the same day? All are pretty much open 10-5 so I wouldn’t be able to spend a lot of time at each museum, maybe around an hour or 2 before having to travel to the next one. I’d also like to visit Westfield (white city) too.

Have meetings all day Wednesday and Thursday, then travelling home Thursday evening so can’t split the museum visits up…hence trying to cram everything in tomorrow. I can arrive into London at 9am.

Oh brilliant! I noticed you saw specific exhibitions, would you say that’s all you had time for? As I’m guessing I wouldn’t be able to visit every floor at Tate Modern for example.

We go to London every 6 weeks and go to specific exhibitions rather than do a whole gallery. I find that more doable.

Somerset House / Courtauld Gallery is walking distance from Tate Modern, and has a very nice restaurant, Spring, for lunch (including a good value set-lunch menu). Then you can also walk to Space NK in Covent Garden.

The Courtauld has the Abstract Erotic exhibit on which looks interesting - Louise Bourgeois, etc.

Thanks everyone. I visited both Tate museums and saw pretty much everything I wanted to! Didn’t have a chance to go to Somerset house but looking forward to the Wallace collection after I get lunch!

Thanks for the suggestion about skipping Westfield - all the shops I want to go to are right next to Wallace collection!

I would reverse the order - then you are doing them chronologically, too. It's totally possible.

90% of people in London will be walking around looking at phones. I really wouldn't worry about muggings.

I'd definitely just choose one unless this is your last opportunity to ever visit London.

Didn’t go Wallace collection in the end as I ended up getting lunch at Harrods and got totally distracted and spent too much time (and money!) there. But I do think you could do all 3 museums in a day. Surprisingly I loved Tate Britain more than Tate Modern, although I generally like contemporary art.

Whoever said they visit London every 6 weeks has the right idea. I’m thinking about another solo trip in a few weeks…
