Absolutely disgraceful. £27 billion since 2019. Maybe if they invested in maternity services and staffing more there might not be this issue. But hey, let’s have another investigation to go along with the last however many (a lot) investigations, none of which seem to have their recommendations implemented. Just throwing money away again.

Talking of throwing money away just had a look at NHS jobs. Currently 183 midwife jobs across the country. Then searched for jobs in NHS England - 6114 jobs! Looking at the nhs England jobs in the first 2 pages only one of those is under 100k salary. I thought it was getting abolished? Why are there so many jobs advertised if it’s getting abolished. Are these jobs essential? If so will they carry on in the vast numbers but just under a different department?
