If you had 9 days, no responsibilities, some money to spend, what would you do/where would you go?

So I’ve recently came out of a relationship, kids all grown, I have a week and a half off work in September and I would like to do something.
Ive been working a lot of hours and I’m tired, so I would like to get away and relax, see nice things, eat nice food.

I’ve never been away anywhere on my own before. So I am a little nervous.

I’ve thought about travelling to a few places in Europe, or doing the NC500 but not sure.

I have a decent amount of money to spend but not absolute luxury budget by any means. I just feel like I need to get away and have some time to regroup!

All suggestions welcome 😊

I'd do something that you are going to meet people, a short course of some description, a language course on Skye or a yoga retreat etc.
And a few days walking. I could be tempted to youth hostel for a few days.

I think 10 days on your own could be quite lonely and depressing.

What sort of weather do you want? Southern Europe could still be very hot, whereas Northern Europe might be starting to feel a bit autumnal.

But I think I'd have two different short holidays. Firstly 4 or 5 nights in or around a Spanish coastal city where you can swim in the sea, visit some museums and galleries and read and relax around the pool.

Then 3 or 4 nights in a nice UK spa hotel somewhere you can go walking, Perhaps the Peebles Hydro if you don't want to travel too far with a night at home in between to get sorted.

I'd be tempted to go to a thermal spa somewhere that does various treatments / massage etc.

I quite fancy having the thermal fish treatment (I do have psoriasis) in Türkiye.

I’d go to Sicily and enjoy all the incredible food and walk through all the gorgeous towns

I would do some sort of activity/course residential

Or a small group organised tour with Explore or similar

I'd do a point-to-point walking holiday, maybe the Cotswolds Way, staying in lovely pubs each night.
