What do you put off doing - and then when you do it, you wonder why?

I've just hemmed a pair of trousers, which I bought online for my holidays in 2022 (I've just checked).

I love them, but wear them infrequently as they're just slightly too long, so need heels rather than flats and holidays are not proper heels weather. Literally 1cm, and they would work with both. (They're already petite length but I'm a shorty).

I wanted to take them on holiday, but was bemoaning the length so DH may have snapped gently suggested I take them up today as I have a day off.

So I have. Literally 5 minutes to do on the machine as it was a turn of the hem, so didn't even really need pinning (plus 10 minutes trying to thread the needle, which I think may have been my issue to begin with!). And I then got so happy, I've done two pairs of pyjamas which are similarly too long.

Why on earth did I keep putting it off?! Make me feel better with your tales of prevarication!

Buying tickets for stuff! Flights, entry for things, even hotels and I’ve been caught out several times by later price changes/stuff being sold out. I seem to get to the payment screen, close it and think I’ll go back later… Literally no excuse as all my card details are already there, I just think I have to be in a certain mood for money to leave my account 😂

Same with me op.
Hand sewing repairs, whether replacing a button or hemming a pair of trousers, is something I avoid doing.
It's crazy really, I never remember that it doesn't take as long as I think it will and that it feels so good to finally get the repair done!
Cleaning inside the fridge.
I really feel good ticking that chore off the list, yet it's something I tend to put off doing.

Hoovering the stairs and cleaning the inside of the windows.

I have excellent gadgets ready and waiting which make both jobs quick and easy, but I will procrastinate for weeks about doing either job.

Then, for no apparent reason, I'll get a sudden burst of motivation, do the job in the incredibly short amount of time it takes and enjoy the results.

Sadly, I do not seem to have the ability to learn from this. One of my favourite bon mots is: "How long did it take to do the thing? About six months and five minutes."

Literally everything.
