Do you want basic mesh type to keep things together, or compression type to save space?

If you’re wanting for hand luggage then compression. Generally two one larger for main stuff and one smaller for underwear and pjs. That’s if handluggage. More if more luggage obviously

Not for hand luggage, more for organisation

Amazon basics fine then. You can get packs and in different colours per person. I prefer smaller ones to have more separation and categories.

it’s not really worth investing if they aren’t compression type as basic organising ones are all pretty much mesh.

Do you have any recommendations for compression type?

ApolloandDaphne · 15/07/2025 15:14

The packs are just for me. Is it better to have them in different sizes? Some of the Amazon basics ones seem to be 4 cubes all the same size? I am feeling overwhelmed by the options!

Try Primark

Caspianberg · 15/07/2025 15:20

@Snowandtinsel - we have the Thule- they are a bit pricey though

The Amazon basics I like the x4 same size. But it will depend what size clothing or how much you want to go in them. If your only wanting for t shirts, underwear, thin tops etc than small fine. But get larger if you want to pack thick jumpers.

I was looking at those Bagail ones. I wasn't sure if they would be good quality or not. If they are good I might go for them.

I was pleasantly surprised OP, I wondered if they might have a chemical smell or crap zips, no, (I bought the beige) they are absolutely fine quality wise. Not so very different from the Antler ones. I would buy the Bagail ones again, wouldn't bother spending £50 on the Antler ones again!

We use fairly basic amazon ones and they're fine. I've just bought an extra set to use in my beach bag because I'm so sick of rummaging around to find sun cream or battery packs or my book or whatever. So this year I'm going to have a mega organised beach bag where I can produce sun cream at the drop of a hat (I'll have bag for hats too I imagine...)

I can't find my exact ones on Amazon or in my purchase history but there's 1 big one, 2 that are half that size, and then 2 half that size again. I find the different sizes work well as you can put socks / undies in the smaller ones, then split different types of clothes between the 3 larger ones. I often travel with sportswear and "normal" clothes so split them up that way. Check the dimensions compared to your luggage too, my largest one is the full width of my big case.

My Dc have Primark ones, and they are fine, and as a bonus they are different colours.

I have been using them for a very long time, before they were a mainstream “thing” - I used to get sweater storage bags, which are more for storing out of season clothes, but tbh I still prefer them as slightly bigger.
