Do you look like your grandparents?

As I have aged I can see myself looking a bit like my mother’s mother who died in her 60s. It struck me when I saw a photo of her the other day!

I don’t think I look like my other nan and my grandfathers both died before I was born.

Does anyone else think they look like a grandparent?!

Sadly, I don't think so, no: my maternal grandmother was so beautiful and elegant... She really resembled Grace Kelly.
Everybody has always said that I'm just like my father who was just like his grandfather and greatgrandfather. So, I guess I have a handsome manly old face? I'll take that over nothing, though 😂

I don't think anyone in our family has a particularly strong resemblance to anyone (apart from the two who are twins!!). My nephew looks like brother at a similar age and my mum and brother are alike on baby photos but I don't see it in them as adults. None of my dad's siblings look anything like each other and as cousins we're very different (tall, short, well built, skinny, straight hair, curly hair!)

I look VERY like my maternal grandmother. Face and figure.

I've recently wondered whether this might be why she had a real soft spot for me (in spite of me causing more trouble for her than her other grandchildren...) I think I reminded her of herself in personality in some ways, too.

When I was younger, I would have been horrified to think of resembling her, but I've come to realise that actually she was quite a stonking old lady (and not bad looking either). So bring it on!

Apparently I look like my maternal grandfather. I know that my eyebrow shape runs strongly through my family - my mother and both my daughters have it, although my daughter's both look more like their father than me.

My eyebrows are exactly the same as my mother's mother.

Haha we have got the eyebrow thing in our family too!

When I was a child we sometimes used to meet a woman in the street who would look at me and say " Ee (was Yorkshire) Lilian Snowsgranny will never be dead while littlesnow's alive!" I thought she was weird but my mum explained she meant how much I looked like my Dad's mum who died aged 43 but had grown up with this woman.

I guess it's true as I do have photos and can see how that resemblance passed to my Dad, me, my brother and his sons. Not mine though. My hair in particular seems very like hers.

Everyone kept doing a double take at my grandmothers funeral because the picture on the back of the order of service looked just like me at a similar age. I had never seen the photo before and it added to the emotions of the day and really unnerved me.

I'm more like my paternal grand mother.

Same size as her (size 8), left handed like her and similar faces.

Bizarrely, as I grew up and looked at her photos, I thought she had a really bad boxed dyed, near black head of hair. She was in her late sixties, early seventy’s.

Now that I am late 50’s I know that her hair was her natural colour. Mine is still near black with very few grey.

I'm turning into my grandma, she was a little round butter ball and very wrinkly... great!

I look like, and have the same body size/shape as my paternal grandfathers sister!
I'm tiny as she was.
My daughter looks exactly like her grandma on her father's side. My son looks like me.
Weird isnt it.

Apparently I look very like my great grandmother .

We have a fab photo of g. grandad in Australia with native birds .DS, now an
adult ,is on the hunt for an elusive family photo of g. grandad with a monkey!!

My exh took a photo of me a few years ago and I could really see my mum in it - when she saw it she said I looked like my Nan, which made me feel old 😂 I think I have a bit of both grandmothers in me.

Every time I look in the mirror I see my maternal gran looking back at me

I look like my paternal grandfather's mother around the eyes and nose and like my dad, his mother and all the cousins on that side around the mouth and chin. Even down to the one snaggletooth on the lower jaw. I consider myself fortunate as dad, grannie and the rest did not grow wrinkly and all had fabulous skin.

I once saw an old Edwardian photo of a great, great aunt. It was like looking at my sister. Was the weirdest thing!

My mother is morphing into my grandmother. I'm regularly told I look like my mother and have even been mistaken for her 🙄😂. So I guess I'm morphing I to grandma too

I look like my paternal grandmother. So many people say so. I have the same bone structure and her moody expressions. I couldn't stand her either, she was a vile woman, so I do my best not to emulate her. But when I'm in a mood, I know I look just like her!

My mother is slowly turning into my late grandmother. I fully expect me and my sister to do the same eventually. My daughter will follow - strong genes!

I look a little like my paternal grandmother but am the living image of my dad’s sister. It’s startling.

Yes. I look more like my maternal grandmother than I do my Mum.

Same. My hands are particularly uncannily like my grandma’s - apparently they give older relatives “quite a turn” with how similar they are.
