I don’t really understand Wes Streeting’s response: “So those adults who are hospitalised for no reason, care could be provided within the safety and dignity of their homes.”
Is he saying that he wants this young man to go home to his parents? My assumption from the article is that he was physically violent towards them and that’s why they asked for help in the first place.
Sending him home to them would surely be dangerous? Ideally, he needs supported housing and plenty of care, but I imagine that attracting and retaining enough dedicated carers is a huge issue.
