Help me design my living room, especially my flooring

I am no good at this, so help me please.

I am redoing my living room/dining room. Currently it has oak coloured laminate, but it is very tired and long overdue replacement.

i am also getting new couches, so doing everything at the same time.

My new couches are from DFS and are truffle in colour. Hopefully I can add a picture.

The other furniture - tv unit and sideboard are a golden oak.

We have two dogs, one old, one young, both muddy.

option one - laminate again, probably same colour - will this be a bit samey?

option two - laminate, but more along the truffle line? Will it clash with my wooden furniture.

option 3 - high gloss Dolce walnut laminate from b and q, which looks very similar in colour to my wooden furniture.

option four - a relatively cheap carpet, but one that’s washable and bleach able (I do have a carpet cleaning machine)
.
I will choose my paint colour once I have tied in my flooring.

Thank you in advance for all suggestions.

The walnut won’t go with your furniture. If I were you I’d go for a fairly neutral oak laminate or LVT, which is more expensive but waterproof and bombproof. I was shocked by how realistic modern laminates and LVT were.

Hi @InferiorDesigner
You could try the Karndean visualiser.
https://www.karndean.com/en-gb/floors/

They make luxury vinyl - doesn't matter if this isn't what your planning on using, but you can try out a range of colours and surfaces (wood effect, tiles, etc) by uploading a picture of your own room.

I promise I don't work for them, it's just we are going through the same pain at the moment!!

Edited to add, I have two muddy hounds too - carpet is a no go, and I'd probably avoid a high polish finish because of claw marks and the younger one has no brakes or cornering!

Thank you both - my mind is swirling with choice!

I'm sure it'll look beautiful when you do get your head around the choice.

I have wood-effect ceramic tiles and large rugs - just another option. My tiles go right through the ground floor so that was an easy choice for us.
