I have a bit of a nasty cold. Usually super runny nose, sore throat and my ears are so itchy so deep down that it’s driving me insane. Anyway, I feel ROUGH.

but my eyes.. they’re crying. I don’t feel sad, I’m not .. crying. But I am. My eyes are literally balling tears after tears of or every blink, my eyes are red from it. But I don’t know why it’s happening 🤣🤣

has anyone had this?

I get very watery eyes when I have a cold. For me it's normal, also when I have a cold and eat my eyes water a lot. Weird, I know.

Covid?

HarkerandBarker · 14/07/2025 02:57

This is normal. Depends on the type of cold. I've had streaming eyes lasting days from both eyes. Sometimes they take turns. All long before covid was a thing.

DH always has one streaming eye when he gets a cold. It’s often the first sign of a cold either him. He’s always been like this.

I get this with every cold. It's really miserable.

StarlightLady · 14/07/2025 06:19

This sounds to me more like hay fever. And yes, you can suddenly start getting it, when you haven’t experienced ot previously.

Sulking · 14/07/2025 09:19

I do suffer with hayfever, it’s usually really itchy eyes for me and a bit of a runny nose but nothing like what I’ve got right now 🤣

woke up this morning and my one eye is so swollen and feels like it’s made of paper. Hoping it goes away soon 😟

The current strain of covid includes inflamed, painful eyes and discharge from eyes. Don't know about tears, but it might be related.
