Ds just had a deep conversation woth me. Hes 10 has autism.

So mum are you going to loose some weight. Me: why do you think I should? Ds yeah because your over weight. You need to be healthy. Me: maybe I can loose weight over the 6 weeks holiday and we can go back to school slim. Ds: no i dont think so its hard to loose weight at your age. But if you loose weight tou will look better than you do now. Also why do you drink coke you need to have healthy things so you can be healthy loose weight and walk better with no waddling. I dont waddle 🤣. I want you to loose weight because i love you and want you to be healthy i will teach you jumping Jack's.

Then he gave me lots of hugs and kisses 🥰

I've just reported them because that sort of idiocy is what puts people off posting.

Anyway OP, are you going to sit down and devise a healthy plan with your DS, or hope he'll have forgotten all about it by tomorrow? 🤞🤣

Oh I dont report. I have already seen what they wrote . I like the comments to stay . I feel when theu are deleted it sort of protects them.

@Dollymix2044 your son sounds lovely with his concern for you. Maybe you could say “I can’t promise that the weight loss will happen, but I will reduce the coke and let’s walk together.” He would feel reassured by manageable small changes.

My 19 year old son (also ASD) and I go for 15 minute walks together every night. It’s very relationship bonding. I am very active but my son is not. We started the night walks because he wasn’t leaving the house much from the time of Covid and we have continued them since, timing it after dinner. Exercise is apparently the most effective intervention you can make to improve physical health, regardless of any weight loss and it’s great for moderate mental health issues too.

Wake him up with a bowl of Coco Pops and a chocolate croissant and tell him you want to talk! 🤣

He's probably had a healthy eating talk at school and the problems associated with being over weight and has realised you are a bit on the big side (if you are of course) and is now worried about you.

Could have done i guess . I know they recently spoke about puperty he woke up the next moring telling me his voice had broken 🤣. Hes often random though

Ds has autism and learning difficulties. But just for your information its me who gets mixed up with with the spelling of lose/loose because I also have dyslexia. I hope that explains it to you .

Take no notice of the teachers on here op.
I have learning difficulties with other learning problems and get quoted alot on my gramma.

MissMoan · 13/07/2025 22:34
