How old would you guess this child’s writing is?

Just curious and would love some outside opinions — how old would you guess a child is based on this piece of writing? Posting purely out of interest and to see if some gentle support might be needed.

It’s supposed to read:
Dear _
I hope you have a lovely life since you love me to the moon and back, I love you to Saturn and back.

How old would you guess this child’s writing is?

Thanks everyone 😊

He’s 5 and in Year 1 — the youngest in his class, so naturally I sometimes worry. He’s a big reader with a reading age above his level and did very well in his phonics screening. Writing has been more of a struggle for him (he only started using finger spaces in the last few months, as he’d often forget), but he has strong comprehension and really understands language.

He’s recently taken an interest in writing letters, so I’m thinking this might be a way to gently encourage both his fine motor skills and spelling.

You’ve got nothing to worry about then! His finger spaces are awesome. Way better than some yr 2’s! I would suggest working on his letter formation. Assume his school teach how to form letters correctly? That would be my advice and just keep encouraging him to write!

Thank you modge podge for explaining how it's assessed, that's really helpful. It is mainly the handwriting that is the issue - his spelling vocab etc is good. I wish he could use a laptop or dictate and we do that at home but at school I think they are hoping his writing will improve with practice so he has to handwrite everything. He is expected for writing and above for reading and maths. So sounds like the handwriting is outweighed by the content. It isn't a problem to me in terms of scores on the report except that I worry that he gets frustrated if he can't get his ideas down on paper (i.e. his poor writing skills relative to his reading/mental maths are limiting what he can do). He has some behaviour issues too so if he is finding the work frustrating that may not be helping.
