Good morning from the train to Edinburgh! We're off to Trnsmt in Glasgow today so were up stupidly early for our 6am train 🙈. The kittens were baffled 🤣.

There is, as always, the dickhead without earphones treating the train carriage to the audio that goes with the Tiktok they're watching 🙄🙄🙄.

Dd2's spending the day with her dad - she plans to prep for an exam she has on Tuesday and stay out of the sun 🌞.

I have no idea what we're eating yet - probably McDonald's breakfast when we finally get into Glasgow & then something from one of the food vans at Trnsmt.

I was up at 7.00 cleaned the kitchen emptied the bins and put some washing in
Had a coffee and muesli whilst watching last nights love island
Dh has just left for work he’ll be away until Monday
Dd stayed at her boyfriend’s last night and she’s working today until 6.00 then going back to her boyfriend’s for a takeaway
I’m still in my pyjamas just pottering around the house I’ve just stripped the beds and put another wash on
Was meeting a friend for coffee but we’ve rescheduled it to next week
Just going to have a day at home doing a few jobs and watching tv,reading and listening to a podcast

Morning all.

Had a late night with old work colleagues last night so not long up and just finishing my first cuppa.

Going to have a shower and then have a nail appointment to have holiday shellac removed.

Then we have to visit 94yo MIL in hospital (DH doesn't drive so I have to go). We're on that merry-go-round now it seems. She's been a great MIL but I find these visits absolute purgatory.

After that, I will be in the garden reading before doing the last of this week's Hello Fresh for dinner.

Going to see my elderly parents around lunchtime and combining it with picking up ds who's flying home from his work trip today and the airport is near my parents; and I said I'd give him a lift.

My mum isn't long out of a hospital stay so I'll probably be trying to figure out a few problems that have come up for them. Hope I can help with that 😬.

Then I'm hoping to chill for the rest of the day.

Ddog had his early walk. We are inside hiding now. Already had an ice lolly. Scottish and not coping here 🥵

I'm sitting on a roasting train going to work in a store that has no air conditioner. I'm Scottish and prefer cold frosty days. The heat in Glasgow is unreal.

just finished eating breakfast outside. Quite pleasant at the moment. Nice breeze. Live in Cumbria so not quite as hot as down south.
washing to put out then just going to read and start a new jigsaw. dh is watching The Lions. This afternoon we’ve got a charity event in our village. Live music, lots of little stalls and food. Meeting our dd, dsil and dgd there. A nice lazy day.

Nothing! We all finished school yesterday with youngest DD leaving primary -yikes! It's been a busy and stressful few weeks and my very last drop of energy has gone now I'm across the finish line. I have all the get up and go of a blancmange. I do need to do some washing at least, as ever. Have a lovely day everyone.

I’ve escaped London for my parents’ in the countryside this weekend. It’s very hot here too, but I’m currently sitting in the shade in the garden with a bit of a breeze and some coffee and feeling very smug that I’m not stuck in my stuffy flat! DP has stayed in London as he’s working this weekend but at least he’ll have aircon at work.

Some family friends will be arriving later so imagine most of the day will be spent eating and drinking in the garden. I do have a bit of work that I want to get through before they arrive so I’d better go and retrieve my laptop to get started!

Getting over a migraine.

Up very early as I've got a new health worry that's keeping me awake. Got the bath mats on the line plus the kitchen mat. Now hubby and I are doing a deep clean/wax/t cut on our mazda. Bit warm for doing it but he's bought loads of special stuff abd is eager to crack on!!

Went to the supermarket and couldn't get the bread I wanted so had to buy something different. While I was there, I also bought some Felix soup for the cats, so we can get some more liquid into them later when it's really hot.

DH has rescued yet another ladybird from in the house and put it outside. He's now going to drop adult dd and her dp off at the station.

I've just been pruning one of my bonsai trees (a large pine) on the dining table. It has taken me several hours over the past few days to take all the training wire off, which I had to do before pruning it. Once I've drunk this coffee, I will take it back outside to join its many friends, and then I guess I will have to crack on with the watering. Again.

I might also check just how many ladybirds we have this morning, they were everywhere last night. Found out earlier that the collective name is a loveliness of ladybirds - isn't that sweet?

Couldn't sleep last night due to the heat so have rabbit pink, tired eyes.

Amazingly my room is much cooler, on the advice of MN I opened a window and shut the blinds. It's annoying me as someone wants to date me, he asked me to go to the pub quite late last night. I thought "piss off", charming as I am.

Meeting a friend later to see a local landmark.

I'm considering watching Klute, has anyone seen it? Any good? Only plan for the next few hours is more iced water and a shower.

Sitting in a hotel in Derby waiting to escape. Went to an event last night and off on our hols to the Peak District. We have a gig in a cave tonight

I originally come from Derby but so glad I moved, the city is awful.....

Afternoon all! We're on holiday so I'm currently sitting on a sunlounger enjoying a gentle breeze and looking out at the beautiful Turkish coastline. We went to a water park this morning and plan to have a very lazy afternoon. Our room has tiny little private pool and terrace so we're going to chill here for a bit. Feeling a bit fuzzy after a few too many mojitos last night. Might read a magazine or have a snooze. Then into town for dinner, if we can summon the wherewithal.

’Afternoon! It’s bloody hot here (34°) and I’m very grumpy because I have developed photosensitivity to the sun and am covered in an itchy red rash that looks like severe sunburn.
it started last Sunday, the doctor has prescribed antibiotics, antihistamines and steroid cream but it’s no better. I have to stay out of the sun and hope it improves soon. I can’t even sit in a sunny window and I have to wear long sleeves and full-length trousers. It’s miserable and I have no idea what triggered it.
We walked the dogs at 0500 and they won’t get another until tomorrow dawn. They have the garden, curtains are drawn, fans x 2 on and it’s a reasonably comfortable temperature indoors.
Crikey @CalicoPusscat , Klute brings back memories, early 70’s I think with Donald Sutherland? Tooting Bec cinema I think 🤔

@Zippedydodah yes! I do think he's a great actor. Klute might be really dated now although I like a little neo noir.

@Yamadori we have discovered that our cat really likes water that is really cold, so if you are concerned about your cats' fluid intake maybe try that? It does mean we have to keep giving her fresh cold water but she is worth it.

Dd2 mooching about and has plans to exercise and have a cold shower 🚿
Dh is in London today seeing a cousin.
We had some sad news about someone we know yesterday so I'm feeling very sad and very grateful.
