Has anyone done this? Considering it for next years "personal challenge" I've done something the past 2 years but this is a significant step up! But, i would have a year to train for it.

I'm not expecting to sprint round and finish in the top 10 but would like to maje it round if I sign up.

Any training tips for the obstacles?

Lots of jumping and getting over things. Lots of helpful Marshalls. Good fun!

Try posting this again in the exercise topic. There will be runners who have done Iron Man, Tough Mudder and stuff like that.

Done it twice. It’s a lot more fun than you might think it’s going to be! I’ve been in a group both times- not sure I would have enjoyed it on my own. My advice would be to train for the running, and do some strength training for the obstacles. If you’re really fazed by an obstacle you can go around. If you’re a glasses wearer get prescription sports goggles because the mud makes it difficult to see and you can easily rinse off your goggles. Have fun!

Done a few
you'll be fine there’s no massive distance between obstacles so your never running a long distance in one go
normally there a Que for obstacles so you get a recovery

I did yorkshire 15km last year, my first one. Did zero training, although i did shift a lot of weight for it which i would say massively helped. Last years event they did take a lot of the obstacles out, so was further to travel than previous years between obstacles, this was a common conplaint from speaking with other runners, so hopefully theyve taken that on board as im doing it again this year, again with zero training. I personally wouldn't do it by myself as id get bored with no one to banter with going round, but im not a runner in general. When it comes to the obstacles, it doesnt matter if your by yourself or in a group, everyone helps each other, we would help a few people then others would help us and so on and if you dont fancy it, you can skip them. I did get a few bruises last year so have taken a couple days off to recover after this year. Go for it!

Oh great thank you! I would be in a group. Looks like it might be a goer then! I am currently living weight, and have started running again. So should be OK for the running by next year
