Weekend in Bristol with my teenage daughters - what to do?

Hi, we’ve got this hotel booked in Bristol to have a girlie weekend and celebrate one of my daughter’s birthday. For context, they’re 13 and 15.

its going to be so very hot though - 32 degrees on Saturday. And I don’t know Bristol very well at all. What can we do considering the weather? Please also let me know if you have any recommendations for restaurants. Thanks!

Also the containers next to the M Shed are great for food - fish and chips, ice cream, Japanese bar food, doughnuts

I'm going against the grain here. I went to Wake the Tiger a couple of years ago and didn't enjoy it. We did it on the last day of our holiday in Bristol and it makes me grumpy just thinking about it. Plus the weather is going to be great this weekend so surely you don't want to be indoors on a trading estate?
I'd spend my time around the harbour and go to Clifton to visit the Obsevatory and Giants Cave.

13 year old DS and I went to a great Caribbean restaurant called Turtle Bay on Broad Quay. I was impressed because I never got to try Caribbean food as a vegetarian living in Hackney, because it was all jerk chicken, curried goat, saltfish etc. This one had a great vegetarian menu and everything was delicious. Cool decor and reasonable prices too.

Quick update! We went to Bristol last weekend and your recommendations really helped. The first day we spent time by the river. It was SO HOT but that didn’t stop us having fine. We went on the little ferry, had lunch at Spitfire BBQ (good rec!), etc. And then we spent Sunday in Clifton, which we absolutely loved. Brunch at Saffron, shopping in all the lovely independent shops, and then we bought some fruit from the outside stalls and ate in one of the pars under a tree.

Many thanks again! 🙂
