What time do your kids go to bed? Do they sleep well?

Curious to know if we’ve got similar timings..

My early teen goes to bed around 10.30pm now, which feels late to me as I am always knackered in the evening! It’s changed from 9.30/10pm over the past year - they say they just aren’t tired to sleep earlier. To be fair, they seem fine in the morning etc..

My younger one (9) gets in bed around 8pm, reads for about half hour, sometimes a bit longer, but is generally asleep by 8.45/9pm.
But they are awake / up by 6am most days, sometimes earlier(!) and say they can’t sleep longer…

My 7 and 11 year olds are both going to sleep around 10pm (summer holidays here). Younger one bounds out of bed at 7am. He’s never needed much sleep for his age. Older one usually sleeps longer until 8-9am. In term time bedtimes would be perhaps half an hour to an hour earlier and obviously the older one would need to wake up earlier!

Nearly 7 year old starters getting ready at half 6 and is in bed for 7. Has a story and is asleep seconds after I've left her.
She sleeps through till 6.

She's always been a very good sleeper- I had one night of her crying all night when she was about 3 weeks and that's been it.

DD (nearly 12) struggles to get up for school (snoozes through her alarm at 7am and I have to continually wake her up. During the week I try to get her into bed by 9 with lights out no later than 9.30 but she often faffs about till later. I get up early in the mornings so often leave her to it! Older DS when he was that age was a lot worse and was really difficult to wake in the morning. They take after their dad!

2 year old DS and 14 month twin DD's go to bed at 7 and sleep through until 7. Enjoying the early bedtimes whilst I can!

6yo - we go up to get ready / read a book at 7.30pm and she’s asleep by 8pm. She sleeps well generally and wakes between 6am and 7am.

Mine are 11 and 8 and they both get into bed around 8.30pm, then read until 9ish. 11 year old needs her sleep, always has done since birth. Both up at 7.15am for school.

My 10 year old goes to bed at 9.30 ( but he’d prefer later!) and we don’t really have a bedtime at the weekend. We just play it by ear.
He’s up at 6.30/7 most days without any issues.

Thanks everyone! I think I might try out a later bedtime again and see if it helps.

Our main issue is that they hate being alone, so the whole bedtime rigmarole means one of us being on hand or there is anxiety / emotional turmoil... It's quite exhausting..

I’d say you need to deal with them not wanting to be on their own rather than the time. At that age they should be putting themselves to bed.
