For all the people saying they are a compassionate bunch, why this attitude towards PIP complainants?

I myself have autism but do not claim PIP as I do not meet the threshold. But even without meeting it, I still suffer from it, including bullying, ostracisation, energy problems, meltdowns, emotional dysregulation.

So why the people claiming high-functioning autistics are faking it etc. for attention or more severely disabled people on PIP should have even less support etc.

I don’t really understand your question sorry?
Who is saying that?

Far far too many people are on PIP. Nearly everybody has probably got a health problem. We can't all go on PIP. It's getting ridiculous.

I am not autistic OP and suffer from most of what you list. It really is not as simple as people with Autism struggle and everyone else sails along perfectly with no problems, although a quick glance at TikTok will tell you that this is how a lot of people view life.

I have no issues with people getting the support they need whether it be financial, medical, practical etc but there are so many people being diagnosed these days with autism or ADHD I just don’t see how the system can continue to cope. Something somewhere has to change and I don’t want my taxes being hiked up yet again to keep paying for increasing welfare bills. Yes yes tax the rich blah blah but they will just leave, so will big business if we tax them more meaning higher unemployment so what is the answer? I don’t know but people need to look past the end of their own nose at the bigger picture rather than just thinking how hard done by they are.

I don't really understand what you mean either - what compassionate bunch who are also slagging off pip claimants?

You also have a thread running about not caring about strangers. Maybe these people agree with you? People don't give a shit about why others are claiming pip they just care about themselves and where their own tax is going.

You can't really bemoan a lack of compassion in others while admitting you have little of it yourself.

I think it needs to be looked into carefully.
It is easy to assess with visible and measurable disabilities, like mobility. They still pay very lityle.
The fact that we have a huge bill, does it have anything to do with the 7 million delayed surgeries with mobility related ailments? I bet you. The NHS is failing to address the problem today, so three years down the line there is a massive number of people on PIP.
Regarding autism or mental health, it is really difficult to fully assess independance, but the professionals should be able to handle. I do not see why the % should have increased, but for the lack of support? We had plenty of reports on the dire state of the NHS mental health services.

Just a figure with the PIP expenditure means nothing. Why? Who? Where? How hoods prevention is?.... we need that.
