Help - I’ve spoilt some of dd’s tops

Left them pegged outside on the washing line a bit too long and they have a faint line across where they’ve been pegged.

Anything I can do?

Have you re-washed them?

fluffiphlox · 03/07/2025 11:29

It could just be the optical bleach in a bio powder like Ariel. Rinse them through with a nonbio and see if that works, otherwise I think you’re stuffed.

Yes ☹️

You've bleached them. Nothing you can do. Replace them and next time turn them inside out!

Jamesblonde2 · 03/07/2025 11:43

Did you hang them inside out, as you should?

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/07/2025 11:46

How old is she? Under 11, apologies and a shopping trip... if a teenager then hide.. 🤣

Ha ha, she’s 18 and very fussy about her clothes.

Didn’t hang inside out unfortunately

I’ve managed to find on Vinted one of the tops 👍🏻

The other one is White Fox but a plain t-shirt, no logos or graphics.

It's bad luck of course it is, but maybe dd can take over her own laundry only have herself to kick off at

purplecorkheart · 03/07/2025 12:46

At 18 I would be telling her to take this as a lesson to do her own laundry.

That's not always feasible. We don't have enough lights and whites to make a full wash for individual family members for example.

Autonomouse · 03/07/2025 13:13

I would be hand washing them myself.
Especially if you only have a few whites to do at a time.
Bung them in the spinner on delicate, place them on a well-shaped hanger and pin them well onto the line by the hangers hook.

Yes. My older 2 dds (24 and 22) are back at home currently after graduation.

I currently do all the family’s washing together because a) it’s more practical, and b) older dds work full time and I only work 2 days/week.

However I am about to up my working days so it’s a good time to say to older 2 they will have to start doing their own. They won’t mind, they’re both helpful, cook sometimes etc.

However I am wary of asking dd3 to do her own laundry, she will see it as very unfair that I did her sisters’ when they were 18 🤷‍♀️
