Does anyone know if I have got this right?

DS2 is 18 and will be moving from special school to college in September. From what I understand he cant claim UC and he hasnt paid enough NI contributions to claim ESA. He gets PIP but I dont think he can claim any other benefits

Will I still be able to claim single person discount on my council tax as he is still a student?

Yes, if he is in full time education. Also assuming it is not Level 4 or above you should still be able to get child benefit until he turns 20.

Not on level 4 no, he is going to a specialist college and studying an entry level course in hospitality and catering.

In which case, most vocational qualifications up to Level 3 are covered so you should get child benefit and he will count as still being at school/college for council tax purposes.
