London on Saturday

What can a 17 year old do in Central London this Saturday? I have to go for an examination and my DD will roam around alone until around 4 or 5pm. She's not a big fan of crowds but might enjoy a show or exhibition. Any ideas anyone? I know I've left it very late!

It's Pride this weekend I think, so will be busy - the route kicks off in Green Park at 12pm, by Hyde Park Corner tube station. It then travels along Piccadilly towards Piccadilly Circus station, before finishing outside Big Ben. Maybe avoid those areas (and Soho later) if crowds are an issue.

And depends what she is into - sport wise, there are screens around showing Wimbledon or the women's Euros (Everyman on the canal at Kings Cross is lovely).

Otherwise, maybe an immersive art installation like the Outernet or Lightroom where it may be quieter than the streets,

When I had a friend stay, she managed to get last minute tickets to a show on Twickets on a really good deal as people will want to sell the closer they are to the date!

What area is your exam? And I might be able to think of something nearby. Travelling around by tube might be busy

If she is into arts then Tate Modern is lovely and she can spend hours on her own, British history museum is also nice. Both are free. If not, then book her a theatre show near your exam centre.

I would recommend focussing on an area where there are various bits to potter around in a small area. The Lightroom was recommended above and that is in Coal Drops Yard / Granary Sq area which is lovely. London will be busy on a Saturday and that would be busy but I doubt overwhelmingly busy. Or do the equivalent at Battersea Power Station. Depends on where your examination is?
