Impulse Shopping

Anyone guilty of this on a big scale? I have always had an addictive personality but my online shopping really got ridiculous when DH & I were going through an awful time in our marriage some years ago. Ironically, many of the problems we had were caused by financial worries! I would buy a lot of stuff that I really didn’t need & for DD too, trying to compensate for the effect on her. Must have had every single body spray made by Avon for a start! Jewellery, clothes, you name it. It got much better for a while but the last couple of years with DD16 have been horrendous & as a way of distracting myself, I started ordering from Temu etc & putting it all on Klarna or Clearpay. I have just cancelled a TJC order for just over £100 as I ordered 2 rings that I can’t afford & definitely don’t need! Not so long ago, DH had to clear my debt on Klarna/Clearpay. I promised not to use them again but recently paid towards concert tickets for DD using Klarna. Think I might need counselling.

Counselling may well help as shopping is addictive and instantly gratifying.

I love shopping. However, I’ve found putting the items in the virtual basket and leaving it there for 2 days really helps me decide whether I do really need it.
