How can tis be solved for driving test?

Due to the unavailability of driving tests at my preferred centre due to the DVSA backlog, I had to book a test at a different test centre.

My driving instructor said that she would not be able to take me to the test as it is too far away.

I do not have my own car and am learning manual while everyone else in my household has an automatic car so I cannot just get insured onto a family member's car.

My driving instructor said that maybe I could take another driving instructor's car to the lesson but was very vague about that and I do not know how that would work - how I could just ask a random driving instructor to take me to my test.

Is there any other solution to this?

Do you have one of the appointment booking apps? I had similar issues, I paid about 20 pounds for the app and was able to get a much quicker test at my local booked. You type.in what you want and it sends alerts when they become available. Really helped me!

I think that you need to find an instructor near the new test centre who will lend you their car for the test or try your luck with a driving test app (if you have enough time ) to try and get a slot near where you live.

Lots of sympathy for your situation. I booked a a lot far away and used the apps to get a convenient slot sooner. Think they cost in the £10-£20 range but better than using a person off social media who will charge £400

I and my son booked further away I got the train to mine and walked he had to get a bus to his. We preferred to do it quickly and by the end of the day we were in our own cars having passed ☺️

Hire an Arnold Clark dual control car and take a family member with you to get it to the test centre
