If you know about skin tags, PCOS, acne, hormones and that area can you help me out?

I have hormonal cystic acne around the jawline and chin. I’m also hirsute and oily skinned. My periods are fairly regular but sometimes a long cycle, maybe 7/8 weeks between them. I went to see my GP to discuss PCOS but he fobbed me off saying he’d only refer if I was trying to conceive. I only really wanted to know because I’ve read you can improve symptoms by changing your diet, though I’m not overweight. Then over the next couple of years I developed a load of skin tags all over my chest, abdomen and back. I saw my GP in case it was linked to blood sugar and he said you’d normally get them when you’re older (I’m late 20s) but it’s fine. Out of interest I did one of those private tests for PCOS and everything came back normal. Do I just have a hormone imbalance? Is it normal to have so many skin tags? They’re not sun damage as loads are on my stomach which hardly sees the sun. What else can I try for acne? Am I getting obsessed?! Any help welcome!

I would asked to be referred to a dermatologist. You do seem young to have lots of skin tags.
sometimes it can be hereditary, thing .
Also if they are causing you discomfort maybe not now,but in time, the dermatologist will be able to treat as well.

Sorry I also wanted to mention , I used Super Facialist salicylic acid face wash, only need a very small amount and I used a cosmetic round sponge to apply and rinse off with cool
water. Works by really deep cleaning the pores and helps to reduce large pores.
it’s is gentle.
i hardly have any flare ups now, really have been a game changer for me.
word to the wise you must use a good sun factor moisturiser as you’re skin will be more sensitive to the sun. I use Lidl’s 30 sun protection it in a small red tub. I use it year round . It’s about £5.
like with anything you need to give it time.
good luck 🤞

You can buy a skin tag remover on amazon. I’ve used one myself. Painfree amd didn’t leave a scar.

I’m late coming back to the thread but are you able to link what you use? Thanks for the suggestion. The only other ideas I’ve seen are laser-expensive or wrapping thread around them and ripping them off 🫣

I’m so sorry - and outraged - that your GP fobbed you off. This might not be helpful - but i got a TON of skin tags when I was pregnant, having never had them before. And things that looked like moles but weren’t, it was ketosis something. They have now all gone. So absolutely caused by hormone changes. I used Sali Hughes acid on all of it and I think it helped, and I also used an exfoliating body lotion, a Dove one I think, or Palmers, also helped. But they were definitely hormonal - so ask to see a dermatologist or hormone specialist! Dont let them fob you off again. Good luck X

The pill or metformin is what is used for pcos.
You could buy a glucose monotor to see if its high.

I was 8.5 st and had pcos.
