Neighbours cat scarers - anything we can do?

We’ve had new neighbours in next door and they’ve put two of those ultrasonic cat scarers out - one out the back and one in their front garden.

The problem is that I can hear them and they give me splitting headache. They’re on 24/7 and mean I can’t spend any time in my garden or even open my windows without ending up with a headache.

I’ve tried knocking a couple of times and have now left them a note explaining the situation and asking them to please turn them off but if they don’t is there anything I can do. Would the council consider it antisocial/ a nuisance noise if I make a noise complaint?

Congrats on your excellent hearing
There are types where the pitch can be altered, if you do get to talk to them you could ask them if they're able to, can they raise the frequency to make it higher pitch so it's out of your hearing range. Or you could offer to buy new ones that do this if theirs don't.
Other than that wear earplugs or listen to some heavy rock to damage your hearing

Is it your cat that's going in their garden?

Thanks 😄
Altering the pitch sounds like the perfect solution if it’s possible so I’ll mention that to them if I see them.
I resent the idea of having to pay to not be in pain in my own home but if that’s what it comes to I will. I’m absolutely not wearing ear plugs in my own home though, not long term in any case.

No, not my cats.

Deafening myself is getting more and more tempting though

I contacted the council when a similar one was driving my kids crazy and it was gone within 24 hours.

Speak to the environmental health officer at the council.
