Thank you Pineapple. That's all really helpful and I will look up your suggestions.
I'm Coeliac with a side order of Lactose intolerance with a few extra allergies sprinkled on top. After being a lifelong veggie, I am now slowly introducing fish and some meats as my diet is so restrictive these days.
Bizzarely, having said all that, I'm actually a bit of a foodie which is often easier at home when I cook for myself 'safely'. But, I do love going out to eat when I find suitable options.
I veer towards fresh natural foods and love Thai, South East Asian, Mediteranean, Levantian. To be honest, with the caveats above I like most foods.
I'd happily do a foodie trip and pay for good places (within my not huge budget relatively speaking) but this isn't the focus of this trip this time with my young adult son. I suppose its veering more towards back-packing trip rather than 5 star Michelin star trip (albeit staying in a naice hotel.)
I suppose we would be drawn to Street Food, noodle bars and the likes.
I dream of desserts but they tend to be a no-no when out, unless I find a vegan ice cream somewhere.
The gf doughnuts do sound a good call. Its things like that I miss. Getting up in the morning and dropping in to a cafe for a coffee and a pastry for breakfast would be idea but unlikely to happen with my diet, but I live in hope. Things like these Fuwa Fuwa desserts would be something I would love but I knew it was a long shot. Nice to dream though and I will just have to make them at home.
NoelFaraday. Thanks, this is really helpful. That's the kind of info I was hoping a MNetter would be able to give me. I think I'll give it a miss.
