Things to do in Plymouth/soft play

Hi,

We're going to Plymouth for my DS 5th birthday. He said he wants to go to a soft play on the day, so I'm after recommendations, please. I looked at the Plymouth soft play cafe, but it's closed on Sundays.

I'd also love to hear recommendations on other places to visit the rest of the week please.

Thank you.

I think I should have looked into the area a bit more before booking but we were sold on the views 😅

Don't worry! Your little one will ask to do things they have experience of. Lots of things down here are fun for kids but not anything they are necessarily used to, so they wont ask.

Looe has a pitch and putt too (hannafore area - free parking and two great cafes). On a nice day could park there, possibly rock pool hunt on hannafore beach depending on tide, walk over to east Looe to go crabbing. Certainly plenty for a day to do if you've got good weather.

My kids enjoyed Mount Edgcumbe too which is closer to Maker. Played on grass and the pebble beach by the water. I think there's a boat trip over to Royal William Yard too but I've not been there for some time.

If you are National Trust members Antony House is where Alice in Wonderland was filmed - watch for the days they open though as its only part time open to the public.

Search these things on you tube and see if they suit you.

Hidden Valley IS lovely. Fun with a family group of all ages.
If DS is set on soft play, and you have to drive somewhere anyway, you could stay in Cornwall and drive to Kidzworld in St. Austell ( sort of outskirts ) or make a day of it at Trethorne Leisure park nr Launceston.

Seconding the recommendation for Antony House. It is only open mid-week and the garden and house are both beautiful but possibly not a 5yo's treat. Trethorne is good though, with a petting park and lots of slides, maze tunnels, ball park etc. There are some alpaca operations in the Tamar valley too but again, not sure how exciting for a 5 year old.

There's a small soft play in the cafe at China Fleet Country Club in Saltash, plus they have the Fairy Trail, mini golf etc that can be used by non - members.

There's also Bounce in Saltash

Can recommend Bandits in Saltash for lunch!
