Wimbledon attire for 15 yo DD

Hi Wimbledon fans.

My 15 year old DD is going to Wimbledon next weekend with her dad (exh). Not sure if it’s Saturday or Sunday.

What is the dress code for almost 16 year olds? And what about shoes?

She has low heeled sandals from prom but otherwise it’s Birks or trainers.

Any suggestions most welcome.

Thanks!

Unless she's likely to get snapped by the press or is sitting in the Royal Box :-) she should just wear normal hot weather clothes.

Have a look at the audience at today's games. No one is wearing black tie. Don't worry.

Lemonsugarpancake · 30/06/2025 17:30

Sun hat definitely.

Seeline · 30/06/2025 17:30

Exactly this!
But it does get very hot so hat, sun glasses and covered shoulders.
Shorts, t shirt and trainers absolutely fine.

There is no code unless she’s in the royal box.

Thanks for replies. That’s v helpful. She will be pleased to know normal attire all good!

.... and factor 50!!!

verycloakanddaggers · 30/06/2025 17:36

It gets hot and the sun can be oppressive. Cap or hat, something to cover up like a shirt.

Loads of audience just wear sports wear, others wear jacket, tie and Panama hat!

BIWI · 30/06/2025 17:40

I’d suggest she also takes a hand-held fan!

Cynic17 · 30/06/2025 17:43

There is no dress code - just comfort! Definitely not "low heeled sandals", coz it's a lot of walking, inc to and from Tube, so trainers are essential.
Go for layers, take a waterproof if rain is likely, sunglasses and a hat (essential).
Probably avoid jeans, just because they're not as comfy as other trousers.

MyLov · 01/07/2025 00:21

Most people wear “Sunday day out” attire. Need to be comfortable and cool and have sun protection (and dry if it will rain). Unless you are in a box or eating at one of the restaurants with a dress code, you can wear what you like. Bear in mind you might want to sit on grass at some point. There’s a large area where you can sit on grass (Henman Hill), drink Pimm’s (there’s a Pimm’s stall) and watch the show courts on a big screen. So if you have space for something light you can sit on, that might be handy.

Lavendersong · 01/07/2025 00:24

Maybe a cushion to sit on as well as a sun hat sunglasses and plenty of water.

Normal clothes as PP but ability to take off or add layers depending if scorching hot or rainy or cool

Lavendersong · 01/07/2025 00:30

My DD would probably wear a short summer dress and trainers.

Not the time for denim shorts or trackkie bottoms and jeans will be too hot. But I’m sure you know that already. Too busy for sandals imho

Mydadsbirthday · 01/07/2025 00:40

Definitely not heels - there is a lot of walking

GoatGoatGoat · 01/07/2025 15:49

Plenty of people get dressed up but mostly people are just in normal clothes.

I wear a long summery dress, cycle shorts underneath to keep cool, and comfy trainers.

Definitely recommend to pack hat, sunglasses, suncream, a light scarf or something similar she can put over her shoulders, a fan, and most importantly, a delicious picnic. Hope she has a great time.

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 01/07/2025 15:51

Jeans are fine if it's cooler. Maybe knee length shorts? Something she can sit on grass if she needs too. It really isn't posh unless you have debenture or royal box seats.

Flatbellyfella · 01/07/2025 15:52

Everything loose fitting for comfort in this heat.

alreadypaidfor · 01/07/2025 22:07

Are shorts, t-shirt and trainers ok?

Are shorts, t-shirt and trainers ok?

The only 'rules' are no ripped denim (or presumably ripped other fabrics), no political slogans and no advertising which seems to mean no very large branding on the back of t-shirts/jackets.

Sgreenpy · 03/07/2025 16:01

Unless she's going into hospitality with her dad there's no dress code apart from the no ripped jeans/offensive t shirt rules.
If in hospitality you are supplied with a dress code but it's quite relaxed smart casual (no jeans or trainers!)

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/07/2025 16:10

She can wear whatever she’s comfortable in.
My DDs used to bunk off school early and stand outside the entrance in their school uniform, looking politely hopeful. People leaving early used to give them their tickets! Alas this is no longer possible.🙁
