The Queue at Wimbledon

I've been to Wimbledon once before when I was lucky enough to get tickets in the ballot.

Can anyone share what it's like to be in the queue? We'd like to go on Thursday, just grounds passes. When do I need to join the queue? Is it likely to be as busy on Thursday as it is today? Im definitely not pitching a tent 😆

If you just want a grounds pass you can probably get away with just arriving early in the morning, although the process changed a bit in 2024 and it sounds like they may now be capping the regular queue tickets at 10,000 after which they hand out secondary B tickets that don’t guarantee entry. It’s possible that this ‘B’ system is only in place for very busy days, because I just watched a tiktok from someone who had a regular queue number in the 11,000s for day 3. I think the first day is always worse.
If possible, get there before the first tube of the day arrives as hundreds of people will be arriving then.
Take camping chairs, lots of entertainment, snacks, etc… There are facilities for you to leave anything that you don’t want to take into the tournament. There are food trucks on the queue grounds but the individual queues for these honestly looked like a nightmare.
