38% of people receiving PIP having a psychiatric disorder, it is the most common condition people receiving PIP claim for.

That’s almost 1.45 million people.

But mostly that's also along side physically disorders too.
I used to work for scope and help people fill in forms.
19% of people on PIP also work.

Mental health issues and conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar have a huge impact on people's lives.

But in many cases those psychiatric disorders are not the main disabling conditions. Without a proper breakdown of those claiming for a mix of MH and physical issues the figures are meaningless. I think everyone has swallowed the government rhetoric around MH claims for PIP. It’s a very difficult benefit to claim and stand alone MH conditions have to meet a very high bar.

When you apply for PIP, you have to list ALL of your health conditions.
