If you had a week (approx) in Cornwall where would you go? Summer holidays sadly. Starting point will be either Bath or South Wales.
Just adults and never been to Cornwall.

We go to St Ives @SparklyGreenTiger but we park the car and basically stay put as there's enough going on and driving around Cornwall in peak time can be dreadful.

Also, don't book anywhere in St Ives without parking included.

And make sure tne parking is practically, ours was difficult to get to in the narrow streets with a very sharp bend, then tiny space in multicar garage.
But better than no parking, we'd go to dinner seeing cars queueing for the public carparks, and those same cars were there when we left the restaurant still waiting.

Yes that too @Onthewaytothemountains the amount of people I've seen trying to get Range Rovers and people carriers around those barrow streets!

I stayed near the rail station once and saw people queuing for literal hours.

We've stayed in St Just in Penwith on many occasions. It's a good walk to the cliffs but we didn't use the car at all for a week. Also Porthcurno (but need car for shopping), with gorgeous beaches and coastal walks. Pendeen is a bit rough and ready but again walks on the coast and adjacent moorland. Lovely beach at Sennen too.

In Penzance, the Penlee gallery is great. Park for free on Alexandra Road and walk there through Penlee Gardens. And walk at low tide across to St Michael's Mount from Marazion. Trengwainton Gardens (National Trust ) are beautiful.

If you do end up around St Ives, one beach that is worth knowing about is Porthmeor. We’ve been there in the summer with dogs (early morning / later evening) and it worked well, plus it’s right by the Tate so handy if you’re based in town. I found this page really useful for checking access and what it’s actually like before we went:

Agree with others though – St Ives in the school hols is A LOT, so if you go that route I’d either stay walking distance and barely move the car, or use it as a day trip rather than a base.

Camborne is lovely for a day out.

Not if you're trying to get there by train on a Wednesday.

Polperro. Fowey. Both absolutely beautiful, amazing food and dog friendly.
