Do you have one? How often do you wash it? Is it comfortable?

I don't understand these. Are people washing a whole duvet weekly? Isn't it so much easier to wash a cover?

PigFan · 24/06/2025 17:57

MN made me buy one. It looks and feels like a sleeping bag. I’m glad I got it in a sale and didn’t pay full whack!

I haven’t used it yet as it’s 10.5 tog so maybe I’ll start loving it once winter hits.

I was told you're supposed to use a top sheet as well and wash that weekly, so in my eyes it's an eiderdown!

Love mine! I have two, a winter one and a summer one. They wash so easily and dry in hours.

However…if you use a top sheet as well as a bottom sheet (like we used to before duvets were a thing) you only need to wash the sheet. I’ve washed mine a couple of times (just to freshen it up) but I use a top sheet. This has made my life considerably easier, as I never have to wrestle a sodding king sized duvet into a sodding cover 🤣

They are also super comfy 😍

I will never go back to a traditional duvet situation 😬

If you can wash them I’m assuming not feather and down. Not interested. Plus putting duvet cover on isn’t exactly difficult.

ShinySquirrel · 24/06/2025 18:15

I have them as emergency 'shit, I stripped the beds and forgot to make then' bedding. I have ADHD so this happens a lot.

They are brilliant for that.

I have two for my DD. She reps like a tornado and always ended up with the duvet at the bottom of the duvet cover. They're really good

Hollyhobbi · 24/06/2025 18:42

I always use a top sheet with a duvet?

PurpleChrayn · 24/06/2025 18:47

DH and I have one each, as do the children. We love them. They dry in less than an hour if it’s sunny.

Why? Totally pointless and ends up tangled around you.

So not feather and down then?
As I said. I’m not interested in synthetic fillings.

I have a nightlark one. I got it as I hate changing my super king duvet! I love it. It is lighter than a duvet but no less warm. I can fit the whole thing in the washing machine along with fitted sheet and pillow cases and it's dry within a few hours. I really like the hygiene aspect. Just got silent night ones for my kids single beds.
